Great Kettle,
It took me two night of reviewing all the kettles on Amazon. So what do I do? I buy this kettle which at the time did not have any reviews. I am not sorry because this is a great kettle. First of all the brushed finish matches my GE Profile stove perfectly. I love the spout and it does not drip when you pour hot water in your cup. It does have a large capacity but so what just don’t fill it all the way if you don’t need to. When the water starts boiling you get the whistle like you would with most kettles. What’s also nice is when the kettle starts to boil and steam is coming out the cover on top the cover is large enough so that the steam comes out the sides which allows you to pick up the handle without burning your hands. Another point that I don’t want to forget. The inside of the kettle is a one piece mold. Along the bottom of the kettle there is no seam along the bottom edge which means that this kettle is very easy to clean. Most of your cheap kettles have a seam in the corner which allow deposits of some kind to get stuck in the corner. You would not think this would happen with just plain water but it does. I gave this kettle to my wife for Christmas and she was very happy with it. It is a well made kettle that is very nice to look at when it is sitting on top of the stove. It is well worth the price.

NOT non-stick, and it’s GREAT,
This is a fine kettle, and all the ‘cons’ in other reviews seem silly to me.
I drink a lot of good tea, use good water, and I want a good kettle–and this one is it!
(Isn’t it crazy how hard you need to shop for a simple water kettle? Well, search no more.)
The PROS:
1. Solidly made: 1-piece body construction (i.e. except for spout) with no bottom seam to get messed up.
2. Heats quickly: wide bottom is smart design.
3. Easy to fill: handle moves correctly, lid correct tightness.
4. Easy to use and pour.
5. Good whistle that fits well.
About the supposed ‘CONS’:
1. NOT ‘non-stick’: The inside is simply not highly polished like the outside. Think about it: Why would a manufacturer spend extra to polish the inside or add an insanely useless non-stick coating?? (and I NEVER use anything ‘non-stick’!)
2. NOT a rigid handle: Mine moves with a gently push but also stays upright, as it should. Do you want a loose handle that will drop to the side of the pot and get hot while heating?
3. Sharp edges? None on mine. Smooth as silk.
4. Leaky pour spout? Not on mine. Seamless, perfect construction.
5. Bubbles over? Read the filling directions! It fills my big English teapot.
6. Hot to open or pour? Not mine, not at all: spout opens and closes cool.
I’m not searching for the ‘perfect teapot,’ whatever that might be. (I’ve had both cheap and expensive pots. All I care about is function, though this one is stylish, too!) I’m absolutely delighted with this–A GREAT WATER KETTLE!!

Good Teakettle,
This is basically a good teakettle. I have used it for several months every day and while it is not perfect, it does the basic job of boiling water, whistling and pouring without the need of a pot holder quite well. I like the style and it looks great on top of my stainless stovetop.
My old kettle did not have an insulated handle so I was looking for one that did. I got tired of having to grab a potholder to pick up a hot kettle.
I bought this kettle even though there were no reviews at the time. It seemed that every review of other teakettles found something negative so I decided to give this kettle a chance. I’m glad I did.
There are a couple cons that exist, but are outweighed by the basic functionality of this kettle. Occasionally the boiling water will blast out of the spout. Also the handle that is advertised as adjustable to fill the kettle is hard to move. I guess you could say it is a bit tight, although it hasn’t been a problem for me. I think I could have my husband put a little WD40 on the hinges of the handle if it was a big problem, but I found that feature to be unnecessary. I just tilt it slightly like other kettles I have used and it fills fine. The lid is tight, but not too tight for me and I do have some arthritis in my right hand. However if you have severe arthritis, you might look elsewhere.
The boiling water blasting out of the spout can be solved by simply waiting a few seconds after the teapot whistles to pour. I can see that this could be more of a problem if one is boiling a full pot and is anxious to pour immediately. Usually this isn’t a problem for me as I only fill the pot about half full and am in the kitchen preparing something else, so I can get to the pot as soon as it starts to whistle. I turn the gas off under the kettle and by then by then it has just stopped whistling and is perfect too pour. If I am out of the room I can hear the whistle which means that the water is at a full boil by the time I get there, so again, if I wait a couple seconds I can pour just fine. If I had an electric stove, I would just move the kettle to another burner for a few seconds and then pour.
I have seen it recommended that to make a good cup of tea, the water should not be at a full boil anyway.
By the way, it does have a very nice whistle that has several pitches, high then low, if you wait awhile to get to it. I guess for some people this is important.
Overall I would recommend this kettle over most of the others I have found reviewed on Amazon. Its problems are minor and easily dealt with. I expect to use this kettle for years to come.
