Seattle, WA (PRWEB) December 11, 2006
Choice Organic Teas, the leading exclusively organic tea company in the United States, introduces a new organic Magnolia Oolong Tea to their Gourmet line. This tea exemplifies the ancient Chinese art of scenting tea with aromatic flowers. In late summer, freshly picked blossoms are layered with light oolong tea and then carefully removed after releasing their exquisite scent. The captivating flavor is mild with a sweet, lingering finish. This exciting new tea is available in a 20-tea bag box and will be sold nationwide in foodservice venues, university and college campuses, cafes, natural foods retailers, and select mass-market stores.
Oolong teas are partially oxidized. This creates a style of tea between green teas (not oxidized) and black teas (fully oxidized). Choice Organic Teas’ new Magnolia Oolong Tea comes from a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Biosphere Reservation in China’s Fujian Province and is grown on small tea gardens owned by the families living in this protected area. According to UNESCO, the goal of a Biosphere Reserve is to conserve biological diversity and demonstrate conservation approaches and sustainable development through training, education and involvement of local communities.
Choice Organic Teas’ Gourmet line features a distinctive packaging design with a leaf-shaped cutout dispenser ideal for foodservice and an environmentally-safe, high barrier envelope that protects the teas freshness and flavor. Choice Organic Teas’ founder Blake Rankin notes, “We’re delighted to see Oolong catching on in the United States, and we hope that our newest foodservice offering will help make Oolong teas more approachable to consumers.”
