   I just received my red teapot today and it arrived in perfect condition, even considering that it’s box was very loosly packed in a much larger box (unusual for Amazon). One thing that I was concerned about was whether the hole in the top for filling was completely round (it is) or half-round (as some are). I recently purchased some “Finum Goldton Filters” here on Amazon and I hoped I would be able to fit the filter in the teapot to steep the loose tea leaves (also purchased here on Amazon; Red & Green Co. Organic Oolong Tea-Fabulous). Works perfectly! I’ll enjoy using this teapot for a long time; you would too.

   P.S. No, there isn’t a screen, grate or other obstruction at the base of the spout so it is easy (with a narrow brush like Casabella 20530 Soft Tip Brushes, Set of 3) to keep clean.

   It is great shame that this beautifully shaped teapot is made in such a way that the handle almost perfectly conducts the heat from the boiling water poured into it. I even tried using a hot dish pad but found it too slippery to be practical on the handle. I hate to send it back because I like the color and shape, but it has a materials and design flaw that makes using it to pour tea a hazard. I have to wonder if the people who gave this teapot such glowing reviews had used it previous to writing the reviews. Or perhaps, as with my mother-in-law, they have asbestos hands. : )

   I bought this as a gift for a friend. It makes a fun gift and she was delighted to receive it. Classic shape and a true, clear bright yellow as pictured. So pretty that it goes well with her fine china cups and with casual mugs. A bright spot on her table. She says it brings a smile every time she sees. Nice size, sturdy without being to heavy, holds heat well and doesn’t drip. Also comes in other lovely colors. Hardest decision was choosing which color to order. I want a blue one for me and plan to give away more as gifts.
