   I just bought a chi.. this chi to be exact. It’s the goddess of all flat irons. I had a cheap Wal Mart hair iron. I used to have to wash my hair, take it into section, blow dry w/ a round brush THEN go over every piece of hair w/ my cra**y flat iron, again and again. And when I went outside, if it was rainy or humid, forget it, my hair would fuzz out all over again. I don’t have curly curly hair more like really thick, frizzy, wavy sorta curly but not hair. Totally NOT cute. With the chi, my hair is super soft and looks like I was born with perfectly straight beautiful shiny hair. HA! Now I shower, towel dry and take the chii to it. It takes about 15 min. STAYS ALL DAY LONG and feels really great. I don’t even need to use any anti frizz serum or anything like that. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny.

   When I got my CHI in the mail, it looked exactly like my friend’s. Then my mom noticed a small warning on the side, saying the cord contained LEAD and to wash your hands after use. Thinking this odd, I called CHI, who told me that not only do they NOT sell their products over the internet (only to private, whole salers) but that they constantly got reports of FAKE Chis that burned hair, had cords catch on fire, break, etc. People would return them with the warenty (also included..and also fake) and Chi would have to inform them that they had bought a fake product. This Chi looked exactly like the real one, box and all, with small differences that I cought when I took it into my local salon to comapre. For example, the real Chi says “R” the fake has a “TM”. Small stuff like that that most people would never catch until it is too late to return it (as I plan to) and stop payment on their credit card (as I just did) I also plan on reporting this to the beter buisness bureau and going as far as I need to. I wanted to save money and ordered from amazon b/c I have always had great experiances, but in a case like this, it is better to spend fifty extra bucks and get the real thing from your local salon. I called the return address number, and, no surprise, got some recodring of badly spoken english that gave me no help what so ever. DO NOT BUY!!!!

   I loved my CHI! But when it broke four months after I had paid for it, I found out some bad news. The one year warranty is VOID if you buy it from Amazon, because they are not an authorized dealer!So now I have to buy a new one or pay to have mine fix, which will take from 3-5 WEEKS! Amazon really needs to tell their customers warranty is void when they buy it, because Amazon WILL NOT REPLACE IT!
